Plot of the film Accidental Passengers (1978 film):
The film takes place in the late 1970s. Returning from a trip, driver Ivan Zhaplov collided with another truck parked on the side of the road in his ZIL. In the darkness of the night, Zhaplov did not notice the obstacle, and the driver of the parked truck did not turn on the parking lights.
Getting out of the car, Zhaplov wanted to teach his negligent colleague a lesson, but instead of a driver, there was a young girl in the cabin, and there were about ten children in the back.
The girl explained that she was a teacher at an orphanage. After the death of the head teacher, it was decided to disband their orphanage and transfer the remaining children to another orphanage. On the way, they had a breakdown, and the driver went to a nearby village for help.
Realizing that this young girl and her unfortunate charges will have to spend this cold autumn night in a truck, Zhaplov offers his help. At first, these random passengers greatly irritated Zhaplov, because at home he had two children of his own and a wife who was about to give birth to his third child.
For this reason, Zhaplov did not hide his desire to quickly solve the problem and return home, but on the way he was so moved by the difficult fate of these unfortunate children that he was ready to sacrifice even his own life for them...
