The plot of the movie Kashchey the Immortal (1945 movie) :
The evil Kashchey ruined Nikita Kozhemyaka's native village and kidnapped his bride, Marya Morevna. Having received an invisible hat and a handful of native land from the wise elder, Nikita set out to rescue Marya and avenge his ruined village.
In Kashchei's kingdom, Nikita saved Bulat Balagur, who was trying to steal an airplane carpet, from execution. Together they broke into the villain's castle and learned the secret of his immortality: Kashchei's heart was kept in a magic apple on top of the Black Mountain. Marya Morevna refused to become Kashchei's wife and fell back into a deep sleep.
The friends tried to escape, but Marya, sacrificing herself to distract Kashchei, pretended to have lost her memory. Nikita, throwing a handful of native soil into the air, called for help from his fellow villagers.
Meanwhile, Bulat got the magic apple, but was petrified at the same moment. Nikita, having captured Kashchei's heart, threw the villain off the Black Mountain, smashing him to death. Bulat came back to life, and the heroes celebrated the victory over Kashchei, the release of Marya and the return of the native village to life...
