The plot of the movie Fist of Fury (1972 movie):
In the late 1930s, in Japanese-occupied Shanghai, martial arts master Chen Zhen arrives at the funeral of his mentor, famed master Ho Yuanjia, founder of the Jingyu Martial Arts Association.
Pneumonia is declared the official cause of death. An insulting poster sent by the Japanese appears at the ceremony, reading "East Asian Sick," a pejorative reference to the Chinese at the time.
In an effort to defend the honor of the school and demonstrate his superiority in kung fu, Chen Zhen fights and defeats all the students of the Japanese martial arts school. Later, in protest against discrimination, he destroys the "No dogs or Chinese allowed" sign with his foot, provoking the police and displeasing the occupation administration.
Chen Zhen soon discovers the true cause of his teacher's death: poisoning by the Japanese. Forced into hiding, he eliminates the poisoners, and then enters into a series of fierce fights with the customers of the murder, including their leader, Hiroshi Suzuki, and defeats them. At the same time, the Japanese military attacks the Jingyu School, killing most of its students.
