Narrative:

The action of the movie "Moscow-Cassiopeia" takes place in the early 70s of the last century. During the last year and a half, the Karakan Observatory has been recording more than two thousand modulated radio signals from the constellation Cassiopeia, indicating the presence of intelligent life on one of the planets of this star system.

Vitya Sereda, a Kaluga schoolboy and pioneer, proposes to lend a helping hand to extraterrestrial brothers in reason and send a space scientific expedition to Cassiopeia. But since even at the near-light speed of a spaceship the flight to Cassiopeia and back will take more than fifty years, Vitya proposes to send fourteen-year-old schoolchildren who should be forty years old by the time they reach the extraterrestrial civilization.
