Действие фильма «Неподдающиеся» происходит в конце 50-х годов, в СССР. Главные герои фильма два развеселых друга Толя Грачкин и Витя Громобоев. На заводе, где герои уже третий месяц работали токарями они заслужили себе славу отъявленных разгильдяев и тянули вниз трудовые показатели бригады.

Grachkin and Gromoboev hung like weights on the legs of their team, and because of them the work collective could not fulfill the required plan. The Komsomol activists of the team hold a meeting at which they decide to fire the negligent workers, but Nadya Berestova unexpectedly stands up for them: she offers to take Grachkin and Gromoboev under her patronage.

Initiative always beats the initiator. And this time this rule was no exception: the activists instruct Nadya Berestova to take patronage over the slobs.

As expected, Nadya drew up a plan of cultural events, with the help of which she was going to direct the hooligans and truants on the right path. But the official approach did not work, Grachkin and Gromoboev quickly saw through Nadya's tricks and preferred to drink in the company of Klyachkin than to listen to boring lectures about the inhabitants of the seabed.

Nadya understands that she needs to somehow isolate the boys from Klyachkin's negative influence, but how can she do it? Her friends suggested a solution: Nadya needs to make Grachkin and Gromoboev fall in love with her, and soon they began to put this plan into action.
