Plot of the film Father's House (1959 film):
The film takes place in the late 1950s. During the war, the Skvortsovs took a girl named Tanya from an orphanage, whose mother had died in a bombing. But seventeen years later, Tanya receives a letter from her mother, in which she writes about how she had been looking for her daughter all these years.
This letter put both the Skvortsovs and Tanya, who considered them her biological parents, in a difficult position. But still, during the summer holidays, the girl decides to visit her mother and goes to the village where her father's house was.
After Moscow, village life turned out to be rather boring and Tanya does not hide her desire to return to Moscow as soon as possible, especially since she does not even know how to address her mother, who has become so alien to her over all these years.
However, meeting the local chairman, Sergei Ivanovich, makes Tanya reconsider her attitude to the village. A native Leningrader, an intellectual and an engineer by education, he came to the remote village at the call of his heart. During the war, he fought in these parts and lost his best friends here...
