Narrative:

The action of the film "The Tale of the Newlyweds" takes place in the late 60s of the last century. A young engineer from Leningrad, Volodya, who went on a Komsomol trip to a radio plant in the new Siberian city of Snezhny, returned to his hometown for advanced training courses, which he completed with honors.

But the most important thing is that Volodya met a foster child named Shura, with whom he decided to marry. The future newlyweds had no doubt that they would soon get married and were making bright plans.

There was a small formality ahead: meeting the parents. And since Shura had no parents, she decided to introduce Volodya to her large orphanage family and the orphanage director Tatyana Nikolaevna, who replaced her and the other children's biological mother.

However, contrary to Shura's expectations, Volodya did not really like her large family, and besides, she was saddened to learn that Volodya did not like children. For Shura, who grew up in an orphanage, this was very painful and, offended by Volodya, she refuses to meet his mother.

And soon she receives a letter from Volodya, in which she hoped to see notes of remorse for her words, but instead of remorse, there were farewell words. Volodya himself left for Snezhny for work, where his friends gave him a grand reception right at the station, thinking that he would arrive with his young wife.

But Volodya arrived alone, and unable to cope with his love for Shura, he sent her one letter after another, which Shura, one after another, tore up, without even reading.

Not understanding why Shura does not answer his letters, Volodya urgently goes to Leningrad, where an unexpected and very pleasant surprise awaits him...
