Narrative:
The film They Were the First is set in Russia in 1918. The country is in the grip of a fratricidal war. civil war and the seriously wounded Red Army soldier Alexei Kolyvanov arrives in Petrograd for treatment. Here in Petrograd, Kolyvanov receives a new assignment from the party and is sent to work with the working youth.
During this difficult time for the country and the revolution, the youth did not have their own organization, and were often subject to the influence of hardened counter-revolutionaries who were preparing conspiracies and sabotage in the rear.
Identifying provocateurs and unreliable individuals was an important task for Kolyvanov and his new comrades, but a far more significant task was explaining to the members of the created organization the goals of the revolution and its significance for all working people.
In addition, it was necessary to prepare young people for service in the ranks of the Workers' and Peasants' Red Army. Many of Kolyvanov's students were hostile to his initiatives; they did not want to study but wanted to go to the front immediately.
No matter how hard it was for Kolyvanov to restrain this sincere impulse of his charges, he managed to convince them to study, and soon the first graduates trained by Kolyvanov went to defend Petrograd at the very moment when the city was in the greatest danger...

Считали что умирают за правое дело, за дело рабочих и крестьян, а по факту никакой лучшей жизни ни для рабочих, ни для крестьян не стало. То же самое крепостное право, только колхозное. За трудодни и голодное детство проливали кровушку первые комсомольцы
