Plot:
The action of the film "Castling in the Long Side" takes place in the late 60s. A young but already promising Soviet biologist Boris Lebedev arrives on a scientific mission to the Federal Republic of Germany.
Lebedev has no idea that West German intelligence services have taken a keen interest in him, and every step of the Soviet scientist is under close scrutiny by intelligence. And one thoughtless act, provoked by experienced provocateurs, creates conditions in which agreement to cooperate with foreign intelligence services becomes the only way out of the situation.
This is precisely the situation in which Soviet biologist Boris Lebedev finds himself, having fallen into the trap of West German intelligence. But when luring Lebedev into their nets, the foreign intelligence services did not take into account that from the moment of his arrival in Germany Lebedev was also closely monitored by the Soviet state security agencies...
