Narrative:

The film Trans-Siberian Express is set in 1927. A prominent Japanese industrialist, Saito, plans to travel to Moscow to conclude a major trade agreement with Soviet Russia.

However, reactionary Japanese circles, hostile to the USSR, decide to disrupt the deal. With the help of the special services, they commit the murder of Saito's daughter, blaming the murder on an agent of the Soviet intelligence service OGPU.

Despite the heavy loss and the information wave that has unfolded against him in the press, Saito does not intend to postpone the deal and goes to the USSR.

On the Trans-Siberian Express train from Harbin to Moscow, a group of Japanese intelligence agents – former White Guards who fled to China after the civil war – are traveling in the same carriage with Saito. Their mission is to eliminate Saito, but in such a way that the OGPU would be blamed for it.

For this purpose, the group had its own OGPU front agent, who would be liquidated after the assassination attempt on Saito. This front agent was the owner of a small cabaret in Harbin, Fan Yu Chun, but none of those who selected him for this mission could have imagined that Fan Yu Chun was a real Soviet spy…
