Narrative:
The action of the movie "Three Days to Spring" takes place in February 1942, in besieged Leningrad. Soviet intelligence receives operational data that the Germans are planning to conduct a major sabotage to mass poisoning of the inhabitants of the city. For this purpose, special containers with poisonous substances were delivered to the front line zone, which were carefully guarded of the Abwehr.
The intelligence knew that the Germans are unlikely to go to the open use of toxic substances, because of the possible response from the USSR and its allies, but any operational information required verification, therefore, in Leningrad arrives an expert on toxic substances senior lieutenant of state security Vladimir Andreev.
The first thing Andreev orders is to send operatives to all cemeteries and morgues and to take all corpses with suspicious deaths to the brick factory. Thus, in a few days, three corpses with characteristic ulcers and wounds that could have been caused by poisoning came to Andreev's attention.
The young doctor Olga Maritskaya, who had worked before the war at the Institute of Microbiology, stated that according to all the signs, the dead had died of plague. It was known that frost had a devastating effect on the spread of plague and in winter an epidemic of this disease was practically impossible, but in three days spring was coming and then the process could become uncontrollable....
