Plot:

The action of the film "The Turkish Gambit" takes place in 1877, during the Russo-Turkish War. Titular Councilor Erast Petrovich Fandorin, who fought in Serbia as a volunteer, escapes from Turkish captivity. In captivity, Fandorin manages to learn information of extreme importance: a secret agent, Anvar Efendi, has arrived at the headquarters of the Turkish Osman Pasha, with whose help the Turks hoped to change the war in their favor.

This information was confirmed by a source in Constantinople. He reported that Anwar was considered an unrivaled master of covert operations and spoke excellent Russian, which meant that he would try to penetrate the headquarters of the commander of the Russian army, General Sobolev. The problem was that the source had never seen Anwar in person and could not provide a verbal portrait of him.

Advisor Fandorin, who escaped from Turkish captivity, also did not see Anvar in person, so counterintelligence has to solve a problem with many unknowns...
