The plot of the movie A Visit to the Minotaur:
A high-profile crime has been committed in Moscow. A unique violin by a famous Italian master was stolen from People's Artist of the USSR Iosif Polyakov. Antonio Stradivarius.
Stanislav Tikhonov, a senior investigator for especially important cases, who headed the investigation team, rightly reasoned that a random thief could not have done it. Another thing that confused the investigator was that apart from the violin, some insignificant imported trinkets like a cassette recorder had been stolen.
However, it is possible that in this way the attackers were trying to confuse the investigation and confuse the investigation. Nevertheless, Tikhonov ordered to put the stolen items on the wanted list, and he himself began to look into Polyakov's inner circle. As he believed that those who had access to the artist's apartment could have known about the Stradivarius violin.
So in Tikhonov's field of vision falls a certain Ikonnikov. In the past, a talented violinist and rumored to be even more talented than Polyakov himself. But Ikonnikov failed to become a great musician, and he probably harbors a grudge against the more successful Polyakov.

It seemed that the motive for the crime was clear, now it was necessary to look for evidence on Ikonnikov. And the investigation had none. In addition, soon after learning that he was suspected, Ikonnikov himself committed suicide.
By this act Ikonnikov confused the cards not only for the investigation, but also for the real criminals who tried to put him on the wrong track.
Before his death, Ikonnikov wrote a letter to the investigator. He did not accuse Tikhonov of being unfairly suspected. He only hinted to him that he was looking in the wrong place.
Tikhonov realized that Ikonnikov knew who had stolen the violin, but preferred not to reveal his name. It was probably someone close to him and Polyakov. A man in whom he trusted Ikonnikov immensely.
Meanwhile, the operatives found the very same cassette recorder stolen from Polyakov's apartment. Tikhonov did not immediately believe it. Is it possible that a criminal who stole a multi-million dollar violin would barter for such a trifle as a tape recorder?
But it was a trail. A trail that would lead him to a master criminal. The criminals who had planned everything in detail had made an unforgivable mistake....
