Plot:

The action of the film "Shot into the Void" takes place in the present day in the USA. The main character of the film, stockbroker Jacob Harlon, is an exemplary family man and law-abiding citizen who has never had problems with the law. But one day, Jacob, returning from a party, gets into an accident, as a result of which his best friend dies, and several other passengers receive serious bodily injuries.

The police find a small amount of alcohol in Harlon's blood, so he soon becomes the main defendant in the accident case, and the court rightly sentences Jacob to a short prison term of several years.

However, in prisons where those convicted of minor crimes were kept together with hardened recidivists, even a short term was not so easy to serve. Jacob realized this from the first minutes of his stay in prison.

He also realized that you can only survive here by becoming strong, because people in prison were divided into two categories: fighters and victims, and it was extremely important for Halon to survive without losing his dignity, because his wife and son were waiting for him outside. And, in addition, Harlon realized that it was difficult to survive in prison alone, so he joined the group "Aryan Brotherhood"

However, having embarked on this path, Harlon finds himself forever on the wrong side of the law: for a fight with a knife fight, in which Harlon kills a representative of a rival gang, he gets an additional sentence. Realizing that he will never be released again, he writes a farewell letter to his son, and he himself is sent to a prison with a special regime of solitary confinement.

Here he meets a major crime boss nicknamed "The Beast", who ran a criminal network in California from prison. Thanks to "The Beast", Harlon achieves parole. However, the joy of release is replaced by disappointment, because the mafia did not let its members go so easily...
