Plot:

The action of the film "Shot in the Coffin" takes place in a country that has been confidently moving towards a bright future for several decades. But then a new political leader came to power in the country and, under the influence of his wife, started perestroika, which called into question all the bright past and called into question the power of its future.

In this time of troubles, three people are released from prison, who before their imprisonment came from different social backgrounds, but had very similar professional activities.

This is what these three were like: an underground millionaire and a bigwig in the shadow economy, the shopkeeper Bulkin, the thief in law Butylkin who never worked for the state for a single working day, and Kovbasyuk, a former major party worker, former first secretary and candidate for membership.

What united them all was that they were imprisoned due to a misunderstanding. Bulkin stopped paying tribute to the party treasury, Butylkin stole a diamond ring from the hand of the daughter of the former main political leader of the country, and Kovbasyuk appropriated half of the currency that he accompanied during a foreign business trip.

Now these three in prison created a new party of Margunists, whose ideological program was eternal construction until the complete victory of a bright future. However, this program was already in the arsenal of the current government, which decided to retain a monopoly on the eternal construction of a bright future, therefore, at the very top, a decision was made to eliminate the Margunists.

The task of eliminating the impostors was entrusted to special agent Stepan Subbota, a top-class professional. However, it so happened that Subbota fell in love with a variety show dancer. Wanting to change his beloved girl, Subbota himself did not notice how he had changed and was no longer ready to carry out the order...
