The action of the film "Escape Plan" takes place in the United States. Ray Breslin, an employee of the Federal Department of Corrections, has a unique talent: he is able to escape from any prison. In order to test the prison's security system, Breslin was forced to get there under the guise of a convicted felon, and then, having prepared an escape plan, escape, thus showing the prison's management the weak points in the security system of their institution.
Breslin's secret to success rested on three pillars: careful study of the prison's design, study of the staff's work schedule, and support from the outside.
Having spent half his life behind bars and having escaped fourteen times, Breslin became a legendary figure in certain circles and even wrote a book, “Compromising Correctional Security.” Such fame could not go unnoticed and soon a female employee appeared in his office. CIA.

She offered Breslin a very good fee to inspect an unusual and secret prison, where the most hardened criminals were kept. Even though Breslin could no longer rely on one of the pillars of his success, Ray's ambition did not allow him to refuse the offer.
But once in this secret private prison, Breslin realized that he had been set up, and whoever had put him there was not at all interested in his release from prison. Nevertheless, Breslin's brain began to actively think over an escape plan, and soon Ray managed to find an accomplice in a certain Emil Rottmayer.
With Rottmayer's help, Breslin manages to get out to explore the area around the prison. But the picture that opened up to Ray almost killed him: the prison was located on a huge ship in the middle of the ocean.
It seemed that in this hopeless situation, one could boldly capitulate and completely rely on fate, but the brilliant Ray Breslin was used to making his own destiny...
