Plot:

The action of the film "Lone Survivor" takes place in 2005 in Afghanistan. A group of US Marine Corps special forces officers received the task of establishing the location of the Taliban base and eliminating one of their leaders, Ahmad Shah, who was involved in the mass murder of American soldiers.

After a successful landing, an unexpected situation occurred: the detachment encountered Afghan shepherds in the forest - an old man and three boys. The special forces faced a dilemma of what to do with them, because if they let them go, they would definitely inform the Taliban, and if they killed them, then violating the rules of war, they could end up before a tribunal if the shepherds' corpses were found.

Realizing that the operation had failed, the group leader made a decision to release the shepherds and immediately return to the base, but at the crucial moment the connection was lost.

The special forces began to retreat, but a large detachment of Taliban was already on their trail. In an unequal battle, all members of the group were killed, and the only surviving special forces soldier, Petty Officer First Class Marcus Luttrell, fell into the hands of local Pashtuns. According to ancient Afghan customs, Marcus was now a guest of the Pashtuns, and they not only did not hand him over to the Taliban, but defended him with weapons in their hands...
