Narrative:
Action of the film We call fire on ourselves takes place between 1941 and 1943. Komsomol member Anna Morozova arrives in the German-occupied city of Seshcha in Bryansk region to help organize the underground. The Germans have placed a strategic base for Field Marshal Kesselring's second air fleet in this city, Anna's hometown.
The defense of the facility was organized at the highest level, and Soviet bombers were unable to cover the base from the air, the density of anti-aircraft batteries was very high. The base was also carefully guarded from the inside: the Germans did not take Soviet people even for auxiliary work, but brought in workers from other occupied European countries, who, in the opinion of the Germans, were more loyal to them than the Russians.
But they miscalculated, among these people, there were many who had their own scores to settle with the fascists, and soon Anna managed to establish contact with them. At first, the underground members collected, studied and summarized information about the object, using surveillance and wiretapping of conversations in the local casino, where the underground members managed to infiltrate their man.
However, soon a partisan detachment was formed in the surrounding forests under the command of comrade Fyodor. Through the partisans, the underground fighters began to receive magnetic mines with a timer mechanism from the mainland, which Polish workers successfully attached to German bombs.
In addition to purely material damage, the sabotage by the international underground fighters also had a strong psychological effect: pilots were panicky afraid to board planes, which, for some unknown reason, exploded a few minutes after takeoff.
German counterintelligence guessed that sabotage was taking place at the facility and began active work to identify the underground, and soon two underground members from among the Polish workers were arrested.
Anna Morozova and other underground fighters who escaped arrest, under the total control of the Germans, had to call fire on themselves and continue their subversive work in order to remove suspicion from the arrested Polish comrades...
