Narrative:

The action of the film "Wait for the Messenger" takes place in the autumn of 1941. A small partisan detachment operates in the territory of German-occupied Ukraine. Due to a shortage of weapons and ammunition, the partisans are not yet able to inflict significant damage on the enemy, but local underground fighters learn that there is an arms depot reserved for the event of war near the city.

The location of the warehouse was known only to a small circle of officials, and now, due to the occupation, contact with them was lost, so soon a liaison, Roman Polischuk, was supposed to arrive from the “mainland”, who knew where this secret warehouse was located.

However, the Gestapo also learns about the existence of the warehouse. The Germans learn that Roman Polischuk was a local, so the liaison's wife and children were put under 24-hour surveillance...
