Plot of the TV series 1942 (TV series 2010):
The series takes place in 1942 in the territory of German-occupied Belarus. The winter of 1941/1942 was very difficult for the residents of the occupied areas, who were forced to leave their native places and hide in the forests.
And although the Germans called these forest dwellers partisans, these half-starved, poorly armed and trained people could not wage a full-fledged armed struggle against the enemy.
And, in addition, ninety percent of these partisan detachments were women, children and old people, so all the so-called combat operations of these people consisted of attacks on German warehouses in order to obtain food.

The detachment of the former assistant driver Grigory was no exception, he managed to lead most of the inhabitants of his village into the forests, where they had to survive this harsh winter. There were no more than ten men in his detachment, therefore, Grigory considered his main goal to be providing for women and children, who were very badly mown down by hunger and cold.
The situation began to change in early spring 1942, when Major Timofeev, sent by Moscow to coordinate the activities of partisan detachments, arrived in the forests. Timofeev's main task was to organize sabotage on the railway line, and Grigory, as a former assistant driver, could be very useful in this matter.
