Narrative:

The movie is set in the early 30s of the last century. In the city of Saratov lives a cheerful and smashing guy Sergei Lukonin, dreaming, just like Alexander Suvorov to become a great commander. Meanwhile Sergey is going to the city of Omsk, to learn the basics of the art of warfare in a tank school.

But shortly before graduation, the novice commander was almost expelled from school for having drowned a tank during a training exercise. Having received the task to look for a ford, Lukonin decided to go straight across the bridge, which, unable to withstand the load of the tank, collapsed. Sergei was sure that at speed he could pass the bridge, and he might have passed it if the driver had checked the clogged gasoline line before leaving.

But Lukonin did not make excuses and blame it on the driver, whom he selflessly saved when the tank fell into the water. Such nobility pleased the chief of the school, and Sergei got off with only twenty days of arrest. And the chief also liked that the boy had character and could defend his opinion, and this opinion that the tank can speed over any bridge, coincided with the opinion of the chief.

Since then, they were always together until the war, and the young Colonel Lukonin enters the war as a combat officer, who passed a harsh school in Spain. Finding himself and his unit surrounded, Colonel Lukonin finds himself in a situation that was on exercises at the Omsk Tank School. In front of him was a river and a dilapidated bridge, and as then in the school Lukonin decides not to look for a ford, and using the undisclosed speed capabilities of tanks in the literal sense of flying over the bridge ...
