Plot:
In the late 20s and early 30s, large-scale industrialization began in the Soviet Union, requiring significant human and material resources. In parallel, forced collectivization of the peasantry was carried out in the countryside, which was intended to solve the financing of industrialization.
This meant that all the land and means of production were now collective, that is, state-owned, and the peasant was forced to work only for the state, giving almost all of the harvested crops to the granaries of the homeland. But even this was not enough, and many local leaders, fulfilling the government's order to confiscate surplus products, took all the products from peasants' homes, condemning people to a hungry existence.
The mass famine of 1932-1933 covered large areas of the USSR, but Soviet official bodies hid and denied the fact of the famine for a long time, and even half a century later the famine was not recognized as a historical fact. Only in 1990 was the Communist Party of Ukraine forced to recognize the Holodomor…
