Narrative:
The film is set in the late 1930s in the Far East. The border is in turmoil: the Japanese are constantly sending saboteurs and spies into the Soviet rear, and sometimes they simply shoot at Soviet border guards, provoking them into armed conflict.
The border ran along the river, and beyond the river, on Japanese territory, there was a village where White Guards who had fled Russia had found shelter. They were still burning with fierce hatred for the Soviet government, which had taken away their wealth earned by the labor of others, and they did not miss a convenient opportunity to take revenge.
This was very well known to Japanese intelligence, which easily recruited various kinds of spies, saboteurs and wreckers from this crowd.
True, the Soviet border guards almost always managed to neutralize these emissaries, and of course not without the help of their best friends: Stepanida Tarasovna Vlasova, her brother-in-law Erofey Savelyevich, daughter Varvara and son Vaska, nicknamed “Chkalov”.
For this, the former kulaks hated the Vlasov family and vowed to take revenge on the activists, and the Japanese command generously gave them this opportunity.
In addition, it was necessary to blow up the strategic bridge connecting the border strip with the rest of the area where reserves and equipment were concentrated, and also to eliminate the area commandant Ivan Nikolaevich Tarasov...
