Narrative:

The movie "Fiery Versts" is set in the time of of the Russian Civil War. Chekist Grigory Zavragin is on his way by train to a major city in Southern Russia, but suddenly he is called by a doctor to a dying passenger in the vestibule.

This passenger turns out to be a Bolshevik commissar, seriously wounded in a shootout with White Guard spies. Before his death, he manages to inform Zavragin of information of extreme importance: the Cadets are rushing into the city, and its capture threatened parts of the Southern Army of the Reds. For this purpose the White Guard spies who have penetrated into the headquarters of the Reds are preparing a mutiny, which will have to start at an agreed signal. This signal will be given to the rebels by a man called "Victor".

"Victor" had to be urgently delayed, but who he was the dying commissar did not know, and gave Zavragin only the addresses of White Guard agents embedded in the headquarters of the Reds. Zavragin, realized that the addresses are valuable only if he manages to get to the city before "Victor", and to do this will be extremely difficult, because soon the train made a forced stop because a few kilometers away the Whites blocked the railway track ...
