Plot of the film The Island (1989 film):
The film takes place in the late 80s. A young graduate student, Sasha, and his girlfriend, Rita, go on a boat trip. Having learned that there is a small deserted island on their route, they ask to be dropped off until the evening, when the boat will be returning.
But they didn't get to enjoy their solitude for long, because it turned out that the island wasn't completely deserted. Besides them, there lived a certain Zhora, a small trader, whom the friends had left here as a joke to wait until they returned from fishing.
And soon Zhora's friends came to the island, and Sasha and Rita's exotic vacation was under threat. Sasha noticed that one of them, nicknamed "Redhead", enjoyed great authority with Zhora and a young guy nicknamed "Father Frost".
But the worst thing was that "Red" tried to provoke him into a conflict from the first minutes of their acquaintance, and Sasha could not respond to him with dignity. And not only because "Red" had his friends behind him, but also because he was not used to solving problems with his fists.
Sasha understands that in Rita's eyes he is quickly losing respect because he cannot stand up for her, and "Red"'s actions have begun to cross all boundaries of decency. But he could not move to active actions, also for the simple reason that he was simply a coward, and Rita knew it.

She had known for a long time, because Sasha was afraid to appear with her in public, did not introduce her to his friends and parents, only because she was a simple cashier at the airport and had the reputation of being an accessible girl.
"Red" was different: strong, brave, strong-willed and independent. Behind him she was like behind a stone wall, but she did not love him. She was forced to admit this to Sasha, and also that she was "Red"'s wife and he had long been burning with the desire to meet the one she had exchanged him for.
Now Sasha understood what this whole show that "Red" had started was all about, he understood what he wanted to achieve with it. However, for "Red" it was not a show, he was too ambitious to back down and firmly decided to see his provocation through to the end...
