The plot of the movie Fathers and Children (movie 1958):

The movie is set in the second half of the 19th century. Arkady Kirsanov, a young nobleman, comes to visit his father at his estate in the Russian countryside. Along with Arkady is his new friend Evgeny Bazarov, a young physician, the son of a poor retired military doctor.

This young man was quite different from the people of Kirsanov's circle. He was insolent, cynical, and to all this did not recognize any authority and tradition. He was a nihilist who denied the views of his fathers, and this could not like neither Arkady's father Nikolai Kirsanov nor his uncle Pavel Petrovich.

Arkady himself was very fond of his new friend. He admired Bazarov's personality and believed that he would reach significant heights, and not only in the field of medicine. However, life prepared a different fate for Bazarov...
