The plot of the movie Ronin (1998 film):
In the Middle Ages in Japan, a ronin was a declassed warrior who had lost the patronage of his master or who had failed to save him from death. Sometimes a ronin was called a lone wanderer, or a free warrior who had no power over himself. Finding themselves without work, ronin made their living by robbery, contract killings, and other shady activities that required combat training.
Modern ronin are not much different from their medieval colleagues. They are usually former intelligence officers, special forces fighters or combatants. For one reason or another, they left the service and found themselves without means of support.
However, their experience and skills were needed not only by the state. The mafia, criminal structures and terrorist organizations all over the world were in dire need of high-class specialists.
Five such specialists arrive in Paris. They do not know each other, do not know the customer and do not even know the purpose of the entire operation. Their task is to seize and hand over to the intermediary a metal case, which was under heavy guard. They did not know what was in the case, and the high fee for the success of the operation freed them from unnecessary questions.
However, it was precisely this circumstance that seriously affected the entire course of the operation, because several other competing groups were hunting for the case...
