The plot of the movie Schindler's List (1993 movie):
In September 1939, Germany occupied Poland and hard times came for Polish Jews. The systematic genocide of the Jewish people began.
The Germans not only forced Jews to wear humiliating white armbands on their sleeves. They evicted them from their own homes and took away all their property except their personal belongings. Jews were driven into so-called ghettos where they were subjected to forced labor.
At this time, the German industrialist Oskar Schindler arrives in Krakow. In this environment he saw great prospects for the development of his business.
Military supplies, cheap labor, and many different businesses that were nationalized and turned over to the Germans to run.
Thus Schindler starts production of enameled cookware in Krakow. Thanks to his connections in Berlin, Schindler manages to employ hundreds of Jewish workers and engineers in the factory.
In 1943, however, the situation for the Jews deteriorated considerably. A decision was made in Berlin to liquidate the ghetto.
Jews were now forced into labor concentration camps, which were more severe than the ghettos. Getting into a camp meant a slow death, and the only way out for Jews was the so-called Schindler's List. Once on the list, a Jew could work in Schindler's companies that supplied the Wehrmacht.
But the worse the situation at the fronts became, the harder it was to get on the list. Schindler clearly realized that he was taking a great risk by releasing workers from the camps for his factories. However, despite this, he managed to rescue more than a thousand Jewish prisoners from the death camps...
