1805. Prince Andrei Bolkonsky is trying to find his way in life. He is tired of endless social gatherings, balls, gossip and idleness. Prince Andrei took the news of the coming war as a relief: Napoleon invaded Austria and most likely Russia, as an ally of the Austro-Hungarian Empire, will provide it with international assistance.
Soon these expectations were justified, the Tsar actually sent a limited contingent of the Russian army to help the Austrians. Bolkonsky was called to serve as an adjutant to the army commander Mikhail Kutuzov.
But in his position as adjutant Bolkonsky did not sit around in headquarters, here at war, before the battle of Austerlitz, Prince Andrei dreams of earning national glory and love, even if he has to die for it. The next day, Bolkonsky leads the soldiers into the attack, having received a serious wound.
The prince returns home on the birthday of his son Nikolai, but the birth is unsuccessful: his wife Liza dies during childbirth. The death of his wife becomes a strong blow to Bolkonsky, he leaves the army and retires to his country estate. While at the estate, the prince often visits the Rostovs' house on business, where he meets the grown-up Natasha Rostova.

Andrei's meeting with Natasha Rostova brought him back to life. He realized that he was in love and could be happy again. Natasha Rostova responded to him with the same ardent love, so the prince, without delay, proposes to her, but sets the condition that their marriage can take place in a year. Secretly engaged to Natasha, Bolkonsky leaves abroad.
Natasha misses Andrei very much, but one day at the opera she meets a handsome young man, Anatoly Kuragin. This meeting turns Natasha's life upside down, she falls madly in love with Kuragin and forgets Bolkonsky. Bolkonsky's friend Pierre Bezukhov finds out about this. Bezukhov also knew that Kuragin was married, so in order to avoid a scandal he demands that he immediately leave Moscow and not go near the Rostovs' house.
Soon Prince Bolkonsky arrives from abroad. Having learned of Natasha's betrayal, he does not want to hear anything more about her and sends Bezukhov to give her all her letters. Pierre tells Natasha Andrei's words about the break in their relationship, and, calming her down, he himself confesses his love.

In June 1912, Napoleon's hordes invade Russia. Prince Andrei Bolkonsky once again finds himself in the thick of this war. Only this time he refuses to serve at headquarters, but goes to the active army to command a regiment and is seriously wounded in the Battle of Borodino.
Pierre Bezukhov, although not a military man, considered it his duty to be there, where the fate of his Motherland was being decided. He arrives at the front and provides all his strength to support his army…

At the end of the Battle of Borodino, Kutuzov decides to surrender Moscow to Napoleon. The Rostov family, like most Muscovites, hurries to leave the city. On the way, they meet a carriage with the seriously wounded Andrei Bolkonsky. Natasha takes Andrei with her to the estate and takes care of him. Andrei forgives Natasha, he confesses his love to her and soon dies in her arms from his wounds.
Pierre Bezukhov, dressed in peasant clothes, remains in Moscow with an ambitious dream: to kill Napoleon or die. But Napoleon and his army are killed by the Russian frost and hunger. Under the pressure of these factors, the French leave Moscow, and on the road they are overtaken by the Russian army, which has regained its strength. Peace reigns in Russia again, and Pierre Bezukhov returns to the rebuilt Moscow, where he meets Natasha Rostova...

Читал «Война и мир» в школе, в техникуме на первом курсе. Книги толстые, два месяца читал. А фильм короткий получился, в 4 серии уложились
