Narrative:
The action of the series "Vocal-Criminal Ensemble" unfolds in the mid 70's. A talented young musician from Tomsk Slava Zhukov comes to conquer Moscow, but in the admission to a prestigious music school a simple guy from the province was denied.
Back in Tomsk, Slava continues to study music, hoping to return to Moscow next year, but the unexpected death of his parents at the hands of a murderer crossed out these plans.
After quitting music, Slava enrolls in a police school, after graduating from which he goes to serve in the police department where his father worked.
At this time, Moscow detectives are engaged in the search for the elusive gang, smuggling antiques. According to operational information, one of the members of this criminal group was the country's most popular singer Arkady Zolotarevsky.
The favorite of the public, People's Artist of the USSR and Hero of Socialist Labor Zolotarevsky was personally acquainted with many members of the Politburo and their wives, therefore, it was not so easy to take him into development. Zolotarevsky needed a special approach, and the idea to organize a certain vocal-instrumental ensemble, which could please the people's favorite, came to the mind of detectives.
This vocal-instrumental ensemble, or as the detectives themselves called it "vocal-criminal ensemble", had to be selected from among the police officers. Accordingly, all policemen who had any musical ability were sent to the capital for selection to the ensemble. Among them was a promising young musician from Tomsk, police lieutenant Vyacheslav Zhukov.
At first Slava was against the transfer to Moscow, because he came to the police not to find the killers of his parents, and not to participate in some ensemble, but as it turned out that the case of Moscow smugglers is directly related to the investigation, which led his dead father ...
