Действие сериала «Вышибала» происходит в 2015 году. Владелец строительной компании «Топинвест» Николай Регунов по праву считался неформальным хозяином подмосковного города Тополевск.Уже мало кто помнил, что успешный бизнесмен, меценат и инвестор в лихие 90-е носил кличку «Гуня» и был лидером «тополевской братвы» — organized crime group, which held this very city in fear.

But Alexander Chizhov (Chizhik), who was released from prison, remembered it well, because he served 15 years for a murder committed by someone else. Chizhov, who showed great promise in sambo, never thought about crime, but his father's illness forced him to leave the sport and join the bandits.

Having received money from Regunov for his father's operation, Chizhov looked for a chance to thank him, and when Gunya was threatened with arrest for murder, Chizh took all the blame on himself without hesitation. Regunov also remembered the kindness, and while Chizh was serving time for it, he supported him and his entire family financially.

Chizhov had no claims against Regunov, but there was one circumstance that could no longer return their former friendship. This circumstance was Natasha, Chizhov's ex-girlfriend, who soon after Chizhov was convicted married Nikolai. This forces Chizh to refuse Gunya's support and make his own way in life in this new reality for himself.

However, Chizhov soon realized that he did not get this job by chance. Someone was very interested in his conflict with Rugunov, and now they were trying to use him against his former friend...
