Plot:
The action of the film "Party Gold" takes place in the early 90s of the last century. Former KGB officer Pavel Selikhov, who served six years on a fabricated case, returns to Moscow.
Selikhov noted with surprise that this was now a different country. Yesterday's party officials had become the leaders of democratic Russia, speculators and money changers had become respectable businessmen, and his former colleagues were now serving them.
Selikhov meets one of the defendants in his case, who has now become a successful businessman in Switzerland, at the train station. It was a certain Viktor, the son of a high-ranking former party functionary.
And soon a certain Nikitin, an employee of a private agency, approaches Selikhov and offers him cooperation. Nikitin is also interested in Viktor's arrival, and he and Selikhov decide to put him under surveillance.
And as it turned out, it was not in vain. As Selikhov suspected, wherever Viktor appeared, there was a robbery with a fight. However, now the party son had grown significantly, and accordingly, his affairs had grown. Viktor's sphere of interests now included oil, which flowed in streams to Europe, and gold, for which this oil could be bought.
And the gold was in the party where his father was one of the cashiers. After long negotiations, Victor managed to convince his father to give him the numbers of accounts in foreign banks, and soon after that his father committed suicide by jumping out of the window.
Selikhov and Nikitin recalled that several other high-ranking party functionaries had recently committed suicide in this manner. Having wiretapped Viktor and his father, the detectives recorded that the party official had received a phone call before his death, through which a special code was dictated to him, which forced him to commit suicide.
The detectives also noticed that all the officials who committed suicide had undergone routine medical examinations in one of the closed KGB medical institutions. This is probably where they were coded for suicide, and this is probably where all the lists of party cashiers were kept…
