Narrative:

The action of the series "Men's Work" takes place at the beginning of the 21st century in the North Caucasus during the counter-terrorist operation, which received the unofficial name of "the second Chechen war".

Al-Said, who finances terrorists in Chechnya, plans to carry out a large-scale provocation to discredit federal forces before the world community. The development and implementation of this operation is entrusted to Ruslan Agoyev, a former GRU officer of the Soviet army with the call sign "Gyurza".

Russian intelligence learned that "Gyurza" was spotted in Afghanistan, in a training camp for bombers for Chechnya, which was financed by Al-Said.

Once upon a time, "Gyurza", being a Soviet officer, fought in Afghanistan against the mujahideen, but now he found himself on the other side of the barricades, and it was very important for the GRU to know what their former colleague, who had not accidentally shown up in Al-Said's camp, was planning.

The best people to do this were Ruslan’s former friends and comrades in arms, Nikolai Rebrov, call sign “Pasechnik”, and Aleksei Stolyarov, “Leshy”.

They had been together since military school, had fought in Afghanistan and other hot spots. After the collapse of the USSR and the persecution of the army, the friends left the armed forces and went to earn money in a foreign legion in Africa.
