While saving a woman who was pushed off the platform onto the tracks by a hooligan, the young man himself falls under the wheels of a train and dies. Yulia Demina, who was saved by this young man, tries to establish the identity of the deceased hero, but he has no documents with him, except army token.

However, this token belonged to a certain Alexey Bystrov, who died in North Ossetia more than 10 years ago. But the strange events do not end there, because the young man who was hit by a train mysteriously disappears from the morgue…

On the other side of death. Part 2. The Island (5-8 episodes)

Investigative Committee investigator Gleb Tochilin has been having the same dream for a long time, in which he experiences the fate of a Soviet soldier captured by the Japanese in 1939 at Lake Khasan. This soldier becomes an unwitting participant in a secret project to develop bacteriological weapons known as "Unit 731"

Tochilin is sure that on one of the Kuril Islands there is a bunker in which important documents on these inhumane experiments of the Japanese are still kept.

All of this could be attributed to hallucinations caused by the brain tumor diagnosed in Tochilin, but exactly the same visions haunt six-year-old Nastya, who recently lost her mother in a car accident...

On the other side of death. Part 3. Crazy (9-16 episodes)

Investigative Committee investigator Gleb Tochilin's car burned down as a result of an explosion. An accidental witness to the incident, Anna Pokrovskaya, reports that she can help the investigator not only identify the bomber, but also prevent a terrorist attack being prepared in the city. In exchange, Tochilin must find her son, who disappeared several months ago.

Psychotherapist Yulia Demina, with whom Tochilin has recently solved several high-profile crimes, is categorically against collaborating with Pokrovskaya.

The biography of this woman was quite rich in strange coincidences. Her first husband fought in Chechnya on the side of the militants, and the logistics company owned by Pokrovskaya was suspected of smuggling drugs and weapons…
