The plot of the movie Stalingrad (movie 2013):
The film takes place in the fall of 1942 in Stalingrad. The Red Army units are trying to do the impossible: to cross the Volga under the noses of the Germans, to gain a foothold on the right bank and to conduct a counter-offensive against the positions of the 6th German Army.
But the Germans manage to spot the crossing in time. Having blown up the army fuel depots, which were practically at the bank of the Volga, the Germans literally burned the advancing troops and threw them back into the river.
Nevertheless, a reconnaissance group of five men under the command of Captain Gromov, several Red Army soldiers and Red Army soldiers managed to cross the river and gain a foothold in a house that covered the exit to the Volga. This house was of strategic importance and alternately passed from our fighters to the Germans and vice versa.
Taking command of a composite unit, which included militiamen of one of the Stalingrad plants, Captain Gromov organizes the defense of a strategic house.
The Germans make desperate attempts to recapture the house, but their forces after heavy fighting were also badly shattered. Only after waiting for reinforcements of tanks, the Germans again begin a massive assault on the house, and the Red Army soldiers defending the house have no choice but to call the fire on themselves.
Against the background of all this, the movie shows the story of the love drama between Captain Gromov and eighteen-year-old Katya, whom Gromov met in the ruins of Stalingrad. His vis-a-vis German Hauptmann Peter Kahn, who led the storming of the house, is in turn in love with the Russian girl Masha.
For both officers, the war now had a new meaning, and each of them was now ready without hesitation to give their lives for the women they loved...
