Narrative:

The action of the film "The Swineherd and the Shepherd" takes place at the turn of the 30-40s of the last century. A young pig-herd and a leading worker is sent from one of collective farms Vologda region to an agricultural exhibition in Moscow. In Moscow, Glasha meets another agricultural worker, a dashing shepherd from sunny Dagestan, Musaib Gatuyev.

Having fallen in love with each other at first sight, the pig farmer and the shepherd were forced to interrupt their short Moscow acquaintance and return to their collective farms, but agreed to meet at an exhibition in Moscow the following year.

But in order to be sent to the exhibition again, they had to achieve high performance indicators in their work, so the pig farmer and the shepherd decided to work with tripled energy. This year was an eternity for the lovers, and therefore Musaib, unable to bear the longing for his beloved, decides to write her a letter, involving his wise father for this.

However, Glasha could not read the letter written by her father in the Dagestani language, so the noble shepherd Musaib waited in vain for an answer. Meanwhile, the good-for-nothing groom Kuzma Petrov, also in love with Glasha, decides to take possession of his beloved by deception and offers her the services of his friend "translator", who knew all languages.

A few days later, Kuzma comes to Glasha with a "translated" letter, from which she learns that her beloved Musaib has left her and married another. Having received such a blow, Glasha throws herself into the arms of Kuzma, who was already ready to console her, and after a while, he even proposed to marry him.

Having not received a letter from his beloved, Musaib comes to an exhibition in Moscow, where he hoped to meet Glasha, but in Moscow the noble shepherd is met only by a portrait with a photograph of Glasha, and the editorial itself did not come to the exhibition.

Having learned that Glasha is getting married, Musaib hastily leaves the exhibition and rushes to the Vologda region to his beloved, so that before she becomes the wife of the good-for-nothing groom Kuzma Petrov, he can explain himself to her for the last time...
