Narrative:
The action of the film "Golden Watch" takes place in the early 20s in Odessa. The homeless child Petka "Kvalet" detained by the police ends up in the same cell with the honest artisan Semyon Semyonovich Kudeyar.
Taking advantage of the fact that citizen Kudeyar was in a state of severe alcohol intoxication, Petka “pulled” a gold watch from his pocket, and in the morning the young street thief was sent for re-education to the Clara Zetkin Children’s Home.
Now Petka faces a painful task: where to hide the gold watch stolen from citizen Kudeyar? Having chosen a secluded place under a tree near the fence, Petka calms down, but soon the director orders firewood to be stacked in the very place where he buried the watch.
At first, Petka tried to dismantle the warehouse at night, but the pile turned out to be too big and it was too much for one person to handle. But one day, when it started raining, Petka came up with the initiative to organize a clean-up day to move the firewood under the canopy.
The director of the orphanage liked this idea, and for this Petka was soon elected as the head of the household department. However, some firewood still remained and now, using his new position, Petka made every effort to make it burn faster in the stove.
And so the long-awaited summer came, and finally Petka got his coveted watch, but during this year big changes happened to him, and he comes to the conclusion that he needs to give the watch to its rightful owner...
