Plot:

Action of the film 22 minutes takes place in our time. On May 5, 2010, in the Gulf of Aden, the Russian gas tanker Yamal was captured by Somali pirates led by Amin Nur Bar. The captain manages to transmit an SOS distress signal and lock himself and his crew in the hold.

The closest to the Yamal was the cruiser Admiral Krylov, which was on combat duty in the area. Having received a distress signal from the Yamal, the captain of the cruiser sent several boats with marines to the Yamal. But when they tried to approach the ship, they were met with heavy fire and, having lost several men wounded, were forced to retreat. One of the marines, first-year Sanya Yezhov, ended up overboard and soon fell into the hands of pirates.

Meanwhile, the pirates contact the navy headquarters and demand a ransom of twenty million dollars, otherwise they threaten to deal with the crew of the Yamal. However, the owner of the ship refuses to pay the ransom, citing that if the pirates do not receive the money, they will sooner or later retreat and release the ship, as happened recently with the American ship.

But the fleet commander, Admiral Vaganov, did not really believe that the pirates would retreat so easily, so he decided to carry out a forceful action to free the hostages. The commander of the marine company, Captain Tarasov, was given a combat mission - to develop this operation and storm the ship.

The task was complicated by the fact that due to the explosive nature of the cargo, firearms could not be used, so it was decided to use only cold arms. And, in addition, it was necessary to somehow force the pirates to gather on deck, and then Tarasov came up with the idea of using Private Yezhov, who had been captured by the pirates, for this purpose...
