The plot of the movie The Case of the Quills (movie 1958) :

The action of the movie takes place in the first, post-war years in Moscow. Demobilized scout Sergei Korshunov is sent by the district party committee to the police for further service. Lena, a friend of Korshunov's, was not happy about this appointment, believing that Sergei should go to an institute.

But Sergei could not do otherwise, if the party directs him to a responsible area of work. Without convincing Lena, Sergei leaves and soon becomes a member of the Moscow criminal investigation.

At this time, the "Quills" gang is operating in Moscow, but the MUR officers have not yet been able to get on the trail of the gang. The leader of the gang was an elderly criminal nicknamed Papasha, who terrified not only his victims but also his accomplices.
